1. A criminal’s point of view

Write a story or a poem about what it would be life to be a criminal. What type of criminal are you? Did you get caught?

 

2. A scavenger hunt going wrong

Write a story or a poem about a scavenger hunt gone wrong? What happened? Who was there?

 

3. The open window

Write a story or a poem about the open window. Why is it open? What’s outside the window?

 

4. Household chore

Write a story or a poem about a house hold chore. We all have chores around the house. Write about what it feels like to do the dishes or vacuum the rug. Go deep. Describe the way the soap feels on your hands or the way the vacuum hums.

 

5. The moment you knew you were no longer a child

Write a story or a poem about the moment you knew you were a grown up. What happened? Where were you? Who was there? How old were you?

 

6. What does writers block feel like?

Write a story or a poem about writer block. What does it feel like? How long have you sat with a pencil waiting for inspiration or stared at a monitor? What was happening around you?

 

7. Two people in a café

Write a story or a poem about two people in a café. Who are they? What are they talking about? Are they there together?

 

8. What broke your heart

Write a story or a poem about what broke your heart. Was it a person? Who was it? Was it something else… an animal, a class, a car? How did it happen? Have you healed?

 

9. Secret love

Write a story or a poem about a secret love. Is it a person? Is it someone you know? Is it a hobby? How does it affect your daily life?

 

10. A journal found in your library

Write a story or a poem about a journal in a library. Whose journal is it? Is it an old journal or a recent journal? What is happening in it? Do you decide to read it? What does it look like?
