Haiku

This type of poem is a form of Japanese poetry. A haiku follows a specific syllable pattern. A haiku is made up of 3 lines that consist of 17 syllables total. Haiku's are usually written about a specific part of nature

 

• Line 1: 5 syllables

• Line 2: 7 syllables

• Line 3: 5 Syllables

 

Example: Through the Forrest

 

She walks through the trees

The branches sway with the wind

The leaves fall to Earth
